This is my mom's old macbook pro. It was used daily from 2016-2022, When it suffered a catastrophic water spill while laying on it's side. It showed no signs of life, and was replaced by an M1 Macbook air. A few months later, powering it on revealed it still worked, and even the battery held a charge. But when said battery died, It would not power on. Eventually, I forgot the password and It sat unused. It also would not connect to an WiFi network to do an system restore.

On March 2026, I took the machine out of storage and powered it on. It still chimed, and on a whim remembered the password to the old machine. To this day, It serves as a 2nd computer, thanks to it's decent computing power even 12 years later. The battery still has pretty decent health too.
